I was a little disappointed to say the least that Rayhawk and I were the only ones to show up at the park. It was a beautiful day and the weather was even nice enough for me to come out and I hate the cold! We knew of a few people that had good excuses for not being there, i.e. they had to work or were out of town, but I expected a few of you to be there that never showed up! I know that it is cold some days and that it is not nice to be out there for a long period of time, but at least try to make an effort to come out even for a short time. We do have a few days where we have a room reserved for us at the community center. There will be an A&S day in two weeks where some of us will bring our sewing machines and we can make tunics or tabards for people. In February, we will have a feast day! There will be soups and bread there and it's going to be a great time to see people and have a great day of fighting and talking. Please let everyone know. If people want to come in from out of town, let someone know and we can set up a place for you guys to stay. We would love to see some people that we haven't seen in some time. Hope to see you all out at the park next Saturday!!

I still have not heard from a couple of you on if you are coming to the wedding and what you would like to eat. I MUST know by the end of the week or I will assume that you are not coming. I need to let the caterer know the final count by Monday the 4th. It is very important that I know so that we have a dinner selction for you available. I am NOT in the mood for any surprise guests that day. I NEED TO KNOW!!!!

I finally found some time to sit down at the computer and print out all the address labels for the wedding invitations!! Now I just need to find some time to go over to my mom's house so that we can assemble the invitations. I'm hoping that we can get them in the mail by the end of the week. I think that when I get the invitations in the mail that the butterflies will really kick in! I'm so excited about getting married! I can't believe that it's going to happen in just 2 short months.

WOW I can't believe that the wedding is 7 months away. We still have so much to do to get ready. I hope we don't forget anything and that everything will turn out the way we want it to. FYI...most of you should expect a Save the Date card from us shortly. I am still trying to gather all the addresses I need to mail them out. I still need a few more from Amtgard people so don't be surprised if I call you in the next few days.

Well, unfortunately I have to get ready to go to a funeral today. My uncle past away the day after Christmas. He was 93 years old and lived a great life. I still have a feeling that I am cursed or something. Almost every relative that I have been close to has died over Christmas. I don't get it...Christmas is supposed to be a happy time of year. I guess, ever since my Grandma died on New Years Day a few years ago, I haven't been able to get into the Christmas spirit fully. I even predicted that my Uncle would pass away around Christmas and it happened the day after. I just don't know what to think about Christmas time...

I was wondering who from Minnesota or Iowa was planning on going to Rakis this year. Rayhawk and I will be going, but I would like to know who would like to ride/drive down with us. I would also like to start planning on how we would be paying for things, who would be driving/riding in which car, and arrangments for food. You know, important details like those. Ray and I will be out of town on June 8th-10th or 11th, I'm not sure which day we will be back. I would also like to know what day we are going to be leaving (Tuesday night or Wednesday day). I hate being sick! Especially when I had plans this weekend. I was going to go to SKBC and now I have to miss it because I caught a cold or something. I don't understand it. I never got sick this often when I was working at the pre-school and I had more kids in my classroom there! What makes it worse, is that my birthday is this weekend! I was hoping to spend it with my friends but instead I'm stuck at home. At least it's nice outside! I have the windows open and I am letting the fresh air in the house. Hopefully, that will get the germs out of my house. I don't know what else I can do. I will also have to go to the grocery store and try some of that Airbrone stuff that is made by teachers. Maybe that will help with the cold. Oh well, I guess I will just have to make the best of today. Hope everyone else is doing well today.

I am so sore today. I really like it when it snows and it was nice to have a day off of work yesterday and still get paid for it! Although, because I live in an apartment, I had to dig my car out of the parking spot I was in, brush off my car, and shovel the snow off my deck. The management wants us to keep our decks and patios clear of snow. Well, because of where my deck was facing, I had 3 FEET of snow. I was up to my thighs in snow while I was shoveling off the deck. Because of all the snow and how wet it was, I hurt my back. I have had a pre-existing problem with it, but the snow just made it worse. Also, I tore my hand on the brick exterior of the building as I was clearing my deck.
Anyway, enough of my bitching.....

I just wanted everyone to know that the Auto Show is coming to the Minneapolis Convention Center on March 10-18. If anyone would like to go to the Auto Show during the week, I am able to get discount tickets through my dealership. The regular price for admission is $9.00 and the discount ticket can knock $2.00 off that price. Let me know by Tuesday if you would like any so that I can get them in the mail for you.

When Rayhawk and I were on the road to his aunts house in Southern Minnesota, we received a phone call from a friend in Amtgard. We were both shocked at the news that our dear friend, Angus, had past away. Even though I have not been in the game for very long, I had the privalege of getting to know Angus. I have to say that his reputation preceeds him. I knew of Angus before I actually met him face to face. Once I met him, I could see why he was so loved and respected in Amtgard. He was an extremly fun guy to be around. He was very devoted to both his mundane family as well as his Amtgard family. From the moment I was introduced to Angus, I felt welcomed by him. He made me laugh and was sincere when talking to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I can't believe that it is snowing now! It's so pretty to look at, but once I started driving in it, I thought differently. I was forced to take the "back roads" in order to get to work on time. I was driving up Boone Ave. and I was almost to the street I have to turn on to get to work and MY CAR GETS STUCK!!! I was waiting for the light to change and just before you turn onto the street, there is a hill. Well, my car decided that it would be fun to get stuck on the ice! So there I was, trying my hardest to get some traction. I had my four way flashers on, I was putting the car into first gear, I was rocking the car back and forth but nothing was working and to make matters worse other people were getting traction...which made me get even more angry at my car...
I called my boss to tell her about my situation, and while I was on the phone with her, my car decides it wants to move! I still hadn't gotten any food for dinner and I hadn't eaten anything since 9 this morning. I was hungry and pissed off at my car. I got to work 10 minutes late, but at least I got to work. Now the fun part is going to be driving home tonight at 9pm. I also have to drive back to the dealership tomorrow morning and be here by 9am. What fun am I in store for tomorrow? I just hope that I'm not late tomorrow. It took me an hour to get to work and I only live 15-20 minutes away!

WOW! I can't believe that I have made it through the first quarter of the school year! It's gone by so fast. I hope that I remember what I taught so that I can make improvments or do the same things next year. I have seen great improvments in some of my students. They have all grown since the beginning of the school year. They are starting to read words and many are expanding their vocabulary. It's been amazing to see how much information I am able to give them in a short amount of time and they remember it all, or at least most of it.

We are already thinking about the Christmas program. Yes, we do celebrate Christmas and we really call it Christmas. Not holiday season or whatever other phrase people call it. The students are excited to start singing in music class and learning new things. I have started to think about what the students are going to be making as gifts for their parents. I have also been toying with the idea of ordering some things for my students from a great catolog. I love Oriental Trading Company!

Even though I have all my report cards done and tomorrow we don't have school because of the end of the quarter, I think I am still going to go in for a few hours. I have a new bulletin board I can put up and I can always get some organizational things done. I think that I will be able to get a lot done with no one there bothering me every five minutes. If I do that, I think I will feel better about going back on Monday.

I can't believe that I am filling out mid quarter reports on my students already! Where has the time gone? It seems like I just started the school year. We have already had four weeks of school! Before I know it, it will be Christmas vacation! Things are going well. I wish there was some way that I could only work one job instead of two. Don't get me wrong... I love my job at the dealership, but I get so tried of working 14 hour days two day a week. I hardly have time to spend with friends and family and I feel like I am scheduling time with everyone. I am always looking at my calendar to see if I have time to pencil in a friend or a meeting. I am also telling Topaz that I will be at A&S on Wednesday and then I fall asleep on the couch just after dinner! Sorry Topaz! I really did mean to come over on Wednesday. I will try next week. I just need more me time and more sleep. Oh well, welcome to the "real world" Jade!

HELP! I'm falling asleep at my job. I just hope I don't get caught!

Well, the classroom is done minus some minor things that can wait until things somewhat settle down! I have my open house tomorrow night and I am a little nervous about that. I will be meeting most if not all the parents of the children in my class and I have to try to remember all their names. Yeah, right. I got a form off of the internet last night that I will have the parents fill out so that I can get to know their children. I'm still working on lesson plans for the first two weeks of school so that I at least know what I have to get done. The first day of school is going to be CRAZY and I still don't know what I an going to do for their gym class. I have to teach gym. I think I just may have that as large muscle time and play a lot of games with them. Other than that, things are pretty boring in my life. I hope to still have some free time to hang out with everyone. I would still like to have a social life. I'm just going to have to make a conscience effort to relax once in a while.
